Doberman Pinscher or Dobermann

About the Breed

There is no dog like the Doberman Pinscher. This breed is built with strength, intelligence and loyalty. They are truly man’s best friend.

Karl Friedrich Louis Dobermann is the man behind the breed. Louis Dobermann passed away in 1894. His breed was trusted to and refined by Goswin Tischler and Otto Goeller. They built the breed into the Doberman standards we see today.

Dobermans are very smart, pick up on training quickly, and make loving and fun companions. But be prepared, they are strong dogs and can become pushy, destructive, and unmanageable if not trained and socialized as a puppy. Getting your Doberman into puppy classes as soon as they have all their vaccinations is key.

The ideal size of the Doberman are as follows:

Males height is 27-28in. at the shoulders and weighing  88-99lbs.

Females height is 25-27in. at the shoulders and weighing 71-77lbs.

Dobermans come in a small variety of colors, starting with the most common Black and Rust or Black and Tan and Red and Rust. They also come in Blue with Rust markings and Fawn (Isabella).

**WE DO NOT BREED OR SELL ALL BLACK OR ALL WHITE DOBERMANS. These colors are not accepted colors and come with multiple health, temperament and genetic problems. We strive to produce the best quality of the breed.

Stitch on the left has natural ear and Lilo on the right has a Medium Length Show Crop.

Ear and Tail Cropping

Dobermans are born with natural ears and tails. Typically tails and dewclaws are done within 2 to 3 days after they are born. The ears can be done between the ages of 8-12weeks old and this is optional. Some Doberman owners choose to leave their puppy’s ears natural and that’s fine.
